A Man Said to the Universe
A man said to the Universe:
"Sir, I exist!"
"However," replied the universe,
"The fact has not created in me
A sense of obligation."
The reason I like this poem is how Stephen Crane satirizes about people who think they are the only people alive in this universe. Selfishness is the root of all sin, I believe. We need to realize that the universe does not slow down on bad days, nor does it try to suck the time out of good days.
